Aishat Abiri is a writer and filmmaker, passionate about community-centered storytelling. Her work has screened at the Roxbury International Film Festival , Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival, New/Next Film Festival, the Mental Filmness Film Festival, and more. She has a Master of Fine Arts in filmmaking from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) with an Emphasis in Intercultural Communication. She is a 2024 France-Merrick Fellow and a 2024 Saul Zaentz Fellow at the Saul Zaentz Innovation Fund, Johns Hopkins University. She is currently developing a feature film: 'Nigerian Aunties’ Diaspora Support', a comedy about love and the immigrant experience.
